Hamidreza Torkaman Assadi is a 32-year-old freelance filmmaker and director based in Tehran, Iran. For him, it's all about the moment, capturing it and sharing the experience with the viewer in a cinematic but honest way. In 2014, he started to learn filmmaking basics by attending Hilaj Film School and he had a chance to work with professionals such as Messrs. Amir Shahab Razavian, Saeed Aghighi, MohammadReza Delpak, Hassan Hassandoost and Payam Foroutan, and awarded an official certificate endorsed by Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. At the same time, he made several no-budget short films Following this experimental course, he qualified to enter the Tehran University of Art to begin his academic education in Cinema, in 2016. At that point,he instructed by professors, including Dr. Ahmad Alasti, Dr. Mohammad Shahba, Dr. Ali Rouhani, Dr. Hamid Dehghanpour and Masoud Soflaee, and again he made a several low-budget short films. Finally, he finished his studies with making a short film entitled "Existence(original title: Hasti)“ with the theoretical title of "Thoughts of Mortality in Existentialism Philosophy and its aspect in modern cinema" for the final thesis project and graduated with a MA degree in Cinema in 2019. This film was premiered at "Short Film Corner" - An out of competition section in Cannes Festival in 2019. Also, he produced and scripted another short film called "word(original title: Kalameh)" with the cooperation of its director, Farnaz Kamal.
